IELLIOS Elite represent the same device in two different sizes. The IELLIOS Elite is the size of a desktop computer with a 17-inch touch screen with added components such as Direct Digital Synthesis, Digital to Analogue Converter, Phase Accumulator, Frequency-Shift Keying Recofding, Elimination of Noise and Jitter components, and more. Kays Electronics (an ISO awarded manufacturing facility is repackaging and relabeling the IELLIOS. The IELLIOS labeling and original software is a trademark of Ion Genius Inc.
IELLIOS Elite has a slim TFT fanless medical grade panel. It has the IPX1 waterproof design which protects the entire system from outside liquid, preventing the system from crashing. Powered by socket P Intel® Core™2 Duo processor and PCI expansion slot, the IELLIOS Elite iss very safe for a medical environment. The IELLIOS Elite platform complies with UL60601-1/EN60601-1, CE, FCC Class certifications to ensure safety. IELLIOS Elite are outfitted with a17-inch and a 10- inch respectively10 SXGA TFT LCD displays. Additionally, the IELLIOS Elite offers flexible CPU selection with socket type which increases convenience over onboard CPU, and still maintains a fanless operation and long product life cycle. For expansion capability, the unit supports one PCI or PCIe x4 slot for video capture card and data acquisition card. The built-in 1.3 mega pixels camera, microphone and stereo speakers allow for storing and delivering the IELLIOS labeling, warnings, marketing, training, contraindications, research, before and afters photos, educational papers and safety instructions all by simply touching the IELLIOS touch screen computer.
IELLIOS Elite has an external power supply called an AC power adaptor that is marked with a DC output of 24 V / 4.6 amperes which is the power that is delivered from the external adaptor into the devices. This power supply is approved for IEC 60601-1 and has the UL mark, UL number E257804 and is FCC compliant. Additionally, the power supply bears the CE Mark. IELLIOS Elite contains three Printed Circuit Boards consisting of a Motherboard, a Converter board, and a Communications board which is crucial for Signaling Technology. The Converter board and Communications board plug into the Motherboard.
SAFETY:
The IELLIOS is designed for safe operation. Whereas the design of a voltage controlled
constant current source is relatively simple the safety aspects of applying the current to a living human being are not. IELLIOS has many built in safety features. All client side power lines are isolated from the power source to 1500 volts by isolated DC/DC converters. Further all I/O lines from the embedded microprocessor that control the client side electronics are isolated to 5000 volts. The embedded microprocessor is reset should its power supply fall below acceptable levels or the watchdog timer times out. In reset the mechanical output relay is open circuit and the client is isolated. Once the embedded microprocessor has been reset the embedded software will run in the boot section and all commands apart from “Go To Program Start” or “Reload Firmware” will be rejected. When the output is not connected to the client the main communications check is that for every command sent from the PC to the embedded microprocessor a pre-known reply must return within the communications timeout period. All commands from the PC except for the program data are one byte long and require a one byte reply of the expected character Program data is sent in an eighteen byte chunks and the expected reply is a CRC checked value which must agree with the same CRC check done on the sent data. At turn on and boot up the hardware critical to safe operation is checked and measured. Any failure will stop the boot process. The main power lines have to be within ±500mV of the design value.
The current limiters have to have operated with a current of 0.3mA. The DC offset voltage into 30Kohms is less than ±1mV.
Once the IELLIOS has completed boot up and displays the opening screen the power lines are continuously monitored to be within 500mV of the design value. Should they fall outside of the acceptable range the user is alerted with a message to this effect. The only action available to the user is to reboot the machine which if the problem persists will fail again during boot up and advise the client to return the unit for servicing. While IELLIOS is running but not connected to a client the output is open circuit via a mechanical relay which is connected to an internal load. Whilst in this state measurements are continuously made to ensure the relay is indeed open circuit to the output. This is possible because the software knows about the load it expects to be driving and can compare measured results against ohms law.
During this period the embedded software is in a tight loop under the control of a watchdog timer which will reset the embedded microcontroller in the event the watchdog timer is not reset in software. When IELLIOS is running a program and the output relay is connected to the client a further safety loop is activated which tests the communications channel approximately every 30ms.
The main concern for safety is a breakdown in the USB communications between boards. When the output is connected to the client an extra check is used to ensure communications integrity. The embedded microprocessor toggles a pin every 25ms which the PC reads over the USB bus every 30ms and checks that the pin has toggled within 50ms. If the pin has toggled the PC software sends a message over the USB connection to the embedded microcontroller which resets the embedded microcontroller’s watchdog and the loop may continue. If the PC does not see the pin toggle within 50ms no message is sent and the embedded microprocessor watchdog timer times out and resets the embedded microcontroller which removes the output to the client and the PC displays a diagnostic message.
Unlike some systems the embedded microprocessor toggle pin action is not controlled by a hardware counter which may continue despite a problem. In the IELLIOS the toggle pin is controlled both by a timer interrupt and the program loop. A timer interrupt signals that the pin needs to be toggled however the actual toggling is done in the runtime software loop. This loop catches any communication problems as the feedback is via the USB communications interface. Essentially it must never go open loop. An open loop condition will alert both the embedded software and the PC software to a problem and the unit will disconnect from the client.
The IELLIOS has a number of electronic components that are mentioned in detail below such as Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS), Digital to Analogue Converter (DAC), etc. It also has original firmware and software. The firmware was specifically developed for the IELLIOS. The device was invented on the basis of consultation with molecular biologists and neurologists from Cambridge University in the UK.
The IELLIOS original software are developed by William Stewart, a highly qualified computer programmer with extensive electronics experience as well as IEC and CE testing experience, who has worked in the field of electronics and computer programming for over 30 years. Dr Xanya Sofra Weiss is using the programs developed by William Stewart to compose the IELLIOS specifications on the basis of extensive research analysis that she has conducted since 1999 as well as consultation with Cambridge University researchers and laboratory experts working with a variety of cells including stem cells from bone marrow. Dr Xanya Sofra Weiss is part of the Anti-aging faculties of a number of international Antiaging academies and organizations offering a Masters course in Anti-Aging Medicine.
